Wolności Street in Chorzów

A main street in the centre of Chorzów. It mainly consists of a pedestrian zone and allows tram traffic. Tenement houses from the 19^th century prevail in the place.

The street serves as shopping, service, financial and cultural site. Next to the market square at Wolności Street there is a 19^th century, richly decorated, Gothic Revival edifice of the Post Office. In the middle of the promenade there is a 12 m² screen and a Gothic Revival basilica erected in 1847.

A south part of the street runs through an overpass and the buildings are more modern here.

In the vicinity there are: railway station, Teatr Rozrywki [The Entertainment Theatre], hospital and Town Hall.
