Wolności Street in Chorzów
A main street in the centre of Chorzów. It mainly consists of a pedestrian zone and allows tram traffic. Tenement houses from the 19th century prevail in the place.
The street serves as shopping, service, financial and cultural site. Next to the market square at Wolności Street there is a 19th century, richly decorated, Gothic Revival edifice of the Post Office. In the middle of the promenade there is a 12 m2 screen and a Gothic Revival basilica erected in 1847.
A south part of the street runs through an overpass and the buildings are more modern here.
In the vicinity there are: railway station, Teatr Rozrywki [The Entertainment Theatre], hospital and Town Hall.
