Wolf's Throat district
Historic estate designed by Rudolf Fischer, the architect from Bytom. Incorporated into Gliwice city in 1975. It is characterized by the unique urban qualities. The estate was created in the 30sof the 20th century.
The estate was built basing on the specific design brief requirements imposed by Nazi Germany, which assumed building small, self-sufficient estates. They were made up of small, two-storey, single-family houses. All the buildings are consistent as far as form and materials are considered. The elevations are very simple, without any details. The buildings' roofs are covered with the ceramic tiles.
The estate embodies the movement of „Garden city”. The entire estate is surrounded by the green areas.
Forester's house in Smolnica, sports field and A4 motorway are located in close proximity.
