Wieczorek Mine
The mine is located in the old city district – Nikiszowiec. It had operated since 1883, and since March
2018, it has been in liquidation, although mining is still carried out and Pułaski mine shaft is still in
operation (old shaft winders are still used). An engine room and a waiting room were designed by
famous architects Georg and Emil Zillman, the very same who are responsible for the design of the
Nikiszowiec district. The waiting room is characterised by a special shape of a clock tower which was
built in 1905. In the premises of the mine, Poniatowski mine shaft also operated, which is currently
closed.
