Tysiąclecia estate
Located in northern part of Katowice estate is one of the largest housing developments in Poland. It was built around 1961. Its entire area amounts to 188 hectares and is divided into: Upper Tysiąclecie, Lower Tysiąclecie and Kukurydze.
The housing development layout is oblongly shaped and include:
- 50 residential buildings,
- rows of at least 10 storey high buildings,
- “Kukurydze” – 25 storey high buildings (resembling the shape of a corn),
- points of sale,
- markets,
- school,
- department stores,
- ponds.
Chorzów, Silesia City Centre and Silesian Culture and Recreation Park are located in close proximity. A lot of parking spots are available around the estate.
Along the estate runs Chorzowska street linking Katowice with Chorzów and Bytom.
