In 1857 wooden stairs, which facilitate the climbing to visitors, were added. The gate attracts thousands of tourists with its beauty and originality.
It owes its present look to constant geological processes on Earth. Due to plate tectonics the gate was hiding and submerging in water and has taken a specific shape.
It is a part of so called Devil Bridge rocks. Rock range is on a list of the Karst Phenomena Route in Wiercica Valley. Close to the gate there is ‘Parkowe’ Nature Reserve.
