The dam
The dam located on the Goczałkowice Lake is a water body formed on the Vistula river in order to prevent the flood. It is:
- 2980 meters long,
- 14 meters high.
The low buildings with the video surveillance system and the blue safety barriers are located on the promenade.
The size of the water tank:
- total surface area – 32 km2,
- length – about 12 km,
- average width – about 2,5 km.
The lake is closed to the water sports amateurs as well as swimming. The only exception is professional fishing. The flood bank in Goczałkowice is very popular relaxation spot. Thanks to its even asphalt surface it’s a perfect place for roller-skating and cycling.
