The Kraków-Częstochowa Jurrasic Upland

A territory located in the southern part of Poland that consists of a hilly landscape to the level of 400-515 m with Jurassic limestone rocks. It is an 80 km stretchwhich connects Kraków with Częstochowa.

The Kraków-Częstochowa Jurrasic Upland delights with its diversity:

- abundant  flora and fauna,

- numerous woods,

- geology (caves with stalagmites and stalactites, Maczuga Herkulesa, Rów Krzeszowicki).

The rivers Warta, Biała Przemsza, Czarna Przemsza and Pilica have their sources here.

- Castle in Olkusz,

Jasna Góra,

Smocza Jama,

Łokietek’s Cave,

- so called ‘Trail of the Eagles' Nests’.

 

In the Kraków- Częstochowa Upland the films ‘The Saragossa Manuscript’ and ‘The Revenge’ were made.
