The dam in Porąbka

Built between 1928 and 1937 in Porąbka, Międzybrodzie Bialskie. A heavy-duty dam, one of the biggest in Poland.

 

Designed by two engineers, Tadeusz Baecker and Kazimierz Maćkowski, and built on a bedrock.

It is:

- 38 meteres high

- 260 meteres long.

 

Situated in a beautiful, mountain scenery, surrounded by nature. It retains water of the SołaRiver, what gave rise to the MiędzybrodzkieLake.

In the vicinity there is a water-power station, which uses the falling water for production of energy.
