Saint Joseph’s Church in Zabrze
St. Joseph's Church in Zabrze was built in 1931 according to a design of a protestant professor Dominikus Böhm from Cologne.
It is one of the most interesting examples of modernistic architecture in Upper Silesia and is considered to be the most splendid temple of the interwar period in Poland. In the church we can feel a specific atmosphere thanks to austere monumentalism.
In cellars of the church there is a big vault featuring the altar of St. Barbara- patron saint of miners.
Inside the building we can mostly find artificial lighting and very good acoustics.
Green area surrounds the church.
