Market square in Żory

Located in the centre of the Old Town in Żory. Built on the rectangle plan (100x75 meters) in 13th century. The current, low building development comes from the 19th century.

 

In the market square premises there are:

- town hall,

- Church of St. Apostles Philip and Jacob,

- cellars,

- restaurants,

- points of sale,

- fountain.

 

The ruins of the defensive walls from the Middle Ages adjoin the market square.

The nice atmosphere is determined not only by the infrastructure but also by the green square together with the secured benches. The alleys are lit by the stylish lamp posts.

 

One of the most popular places in Żory, vibrant with life during the entire spring, summer and autumn.
