Lime kilns

The origin of lime kilns dates back to the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century.  Lime kilns found in Mikołów, in a district of Mokre were used for kilning lime and limestone. During the process a burnt lime, used among others in the building industry for mortars and agriculture industry for soil deacidification, was produced.

The kilns from Mikołów have been renovated and there is no risk that they will collapse. The place is fenced and lit. There is much green area surrounding the lime kilns.
