Faculty and Museum of Earth Sciences in Sosnowiec
The building is located in Sosnowiec, close to the city centre. It consists of high and low construction. The building is large, with high windows. It is mostly built of glass.
The faculty has got many teaching rooms and the Museum of Earth Sciences takes up a considerable part of it. Most exhibits are exposed in glass cabinets. They include mainly: rocks, minerals, fossils and meteorites. The museum has a collection of about 4,000 exhibits and 6 permanent exhibitions.
The exhibitions reconstruct natural environment. Their objective is to show paleoenvironment of previous geological periods.
On the premises of the museum there are small and big models of dinosaurs. The most characteristic exhibits are: Celofyz, Triceratops and T-Rex, which is situated in front of the entrance.
In the vicinity there are among others: meteorological garden and Ĺrodula Park.
