Cemetery in Szopienice

A Catholic cemetery, which belongs to the parish of Saint Hedwig of Silesia in Katowice-Szopienice, came into being in 1870s. It is popularly referred to as 'uphill' cemetery because of the cobbled driveway running to the main gateway.

Within the cemetery there are: alleys with a historic stand of trees, tombs and high cross. The area has been surrounded with a concrete wall. It is possible to enter the cemetery on three sides- through the main, side and back gates.

Next to the location there are parking spaces, chapel and restaurant.
