Podcienie Street

Located in the Old Town of Bielsko- Biała and connected directly with the Market Place and Wzgórze Street.

There are medieval buildings, e.g. tenement houses and arcades [podcienie], from which the street derives its name. The arcades resemble cloisters in shape, but in contrast to them, the arcades are on the same level with a building’s façade. Illuminated by small lamps fitted into a ceiling.

Thanks to restoration works conducted in 2003, the OldTown recaptured its past splendor and became a main spot of cultural events in Bielsko- Biała.
