Historic waterworks pumping station
A historic Waterworks Pumping Station Zawada in Karchowice, on the premises of Upper Silesia. Construction works of the station began in 1894. The waterworks consists of historic (1929) and modern sections. Both are open to tourists.
The buildings inthe modern architecture style, built on the premises of Zawada, include:
- administrative buildings,
- pump stations,
- steam boiler rooms,
- well,
- machinery hall,
- workshop,
- bath house,
- garages,
- storehouse,
- fire brigade building,
- chimney.
Around the buildings there is a big green area with a fountain in the middle. A limited entry through a gateway.
It is possible to locate a film crew on a driveway in front of the main building.
